About the Role:
As a Reliability Engineer, your key objective is to maintain and improve plant performance and planned maintenance, all while ensuring financial and operational efficiencies.  Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will develop maintenance strategies, analyze performance metrics, and implement improvements that enhance reliability, productivity, and overall operational excellence. This role is a perfect fit for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership of the Engineering Planning and Operational  Team overseeing reliability engineering work, fostering collaboration and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and implement a structured maintenance planning process, optimizing workflows through CMMS and documenting standardized procedures for efficiency and consistency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in maintenance workflows.
  • Define and track plant reliability and availability KPIs to measure performance.
  • Conduct failure mode analysis and develop engineering solutions to improve plant sustainability.
  • Oversee reliability planning to support budget goals and manage contractor labour, major maintenance, and capital projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Hons) or NZCE equivalent, with Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational performance, reliability, and continuous improvement, with proven expertise in maintenance engineering, reliability strategies, and process optimization.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing direct reports and contractors.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering standards, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • A systematic, detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify and implement strategic solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in documentation, CMMS, and strong computer literacy.
