R&D Technologist

  • Contribute to real product development in a supportive, collaborative team
  • Ideal for someone with experience in food or dairy formulation
  • Work across compliance, documentation and hands-on technical support

At Scitex, we’re working with a well-regarded manufacturer to help them find their next R&D Technologist – someone with hands-on experience in product development, ideally in dry blending or dairy. This is a fantastic opportunity to step up into a varied and meaningful role in a team that values practical experience, attention to detail, and a science-led approach to innovation.

You’ll support the development of new products from early-stage formulation through to launch – preparing documentation, working with labs, and ensuring compliance for local and export markets. You’ll also get exposure to customer requirements, product validations and commercialisation processes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist with the development of dry-blended products from brief to launch
  • Translate customer needs into formulations and technical documentation
  • Support the preparation of nutritional info, label specs and compliance checklists
  • Liaise with labs, assist with product validation and review of test results
  • Maintain key databases and code books for new and existing products
  • Help manage artwork approval and documentation processes

What we’re looking for:

  • R&D or formulation experience in food, nutraceuticals or dairy
  • Hands-on knowledge of dry blending or powdered product development
  • Familiarity with compliance, specs, and nutritional documentation
  • A science degree in food science, chemistry, nutrition or similar
  • Organised, collaborative and keen to develop your skills further

This is a great step for someone early in their R&D career who’s looking to expand their technical skillset and contribute to products that go to market across New Zealand and beyond.
