A leading player in the food industry is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team. This is a pivotal role, reporting to the National Quality Manager, where you will oversee daily operations in quality control and assurance. You will lead initiatives to enhance product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency while collaborating with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the Quality Team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Cultivate a quality culture and implement best practices to enhance stakeholder capabilities.
  • Contribute to the establishment of New Zealand’s Quality framework and management systems.
  • Ensure products and processes adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • Drive initiatives for ongoing improvement across the organization.
  • Oversee non-conformance management and operational processes.

Ideal Background:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Technology, Applied Science, or Agricultural Science.
  • Experience in quality assurance and control within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and familiarity with New Zealand’s regulatory bodies (e.g., IANZ, MPI).
  • Experience in technical or quality systems, including laboratory testing.
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborative decision-making style with strong leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
