Quality, Safety, Risk and Compliance Manager

About the Role:
Are you an experienced leader in quality and compliance with a passion for healthcare excellence? We are seeking a National Quality, Safety, Risk and Compliance Manager to oversee and enhance these important areas across a network of laboratories in New Zealand.

For this role, you can base yourself in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Operational Leadership Team and regional Quality and Safety Managers to ensure compliance with national standards and the implementation of best practices. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and implement the strategic direction for quality, health and safety functions within the organization.
  • Develop and standardize quality assurance and health and safety practices across all locations to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Lead group risk activities, conduct detailed risk assessments, and develop policies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Manage and mentor the quality and safety team, fostering a collaborative and aligned approach to quality management.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development of staff regarding quality and health and safety practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a senior role within a laboratory environment, with a proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience maintaining quality systems according to AS/NZS ISO 15189 and IANZ requirements.
  • Experience managing health and safety systems in line with ISO 45001.
  • Tertiary qualification in medical sciences or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective time management, and the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
