Food Safety and Quality Manager

At Scitex, we’re proud to be partnering with a well-regarded New Zealand food manufacturer in securing a talented Food Safety & Quality Manager for a fixed-term 12-month contract. This is a rare opportunity to join a business with a strong people-first culture, located in one of New Zealand’s most enviable coastal regions.

The current Quality Manager will be there for support while they are seconded for 12 months to project work. 

What you will do

• Oversee food safety and quality systems across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with FSSC22000, HACCP, RMP, MPI and customer standards
• Lead internal and external audits (MPI, customer, religious), driving improvements and embedding a proactive food safety culture
• Manage certifications (religious, organic, RSPO, environmental, sustainability), supplier approvals, and export compliance documentation
• Coach, mentor and develop a team of FSQ Specialists while delivering effective training across the business

What we are looking for

• Proven leadership experience in food safety & quality management within food manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of RMP, HACCP, FSSC22000 and regulatory frameworks; confident in managing audits and certification requirements
• Experience driving and embedding a food safety culture at all levels of a business
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across stakeholders
• 5–10+ years’ experience in similar roles; advanced HACCP, auditing or tertiary qualifications an advantage
