Quality Assistant – Afternoon Shift

Our client is a major manufacturer of ready to eat salad products, supplying to retailers around New Zealand. To keep up with current demand, they are currently seeking a quality technician to assist on its afternoon shift.

This role would suit a candidate who has previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment in a quality control role.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine quality inspections on raw materials).
  • Conduct regular in line checks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Monitor production processes to identify and address deviations from quality standards.
  • Collect samples for testing and analysis, including microbiological, chemical, and sensory evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality-related activities and test results.
  • Investigate customer complaints and internal quality incidents, implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist with internal audits and assist with external audit preparations.
  • Provide training and guidance on quality standards and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
This role would suit an outgoing person with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report any quality issues. Also required

  • Ideally have a food science or science related tertiary education.
  • Previous experience in a similar senior quality role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with handling paperwork and HACCP procedures is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of GMP standards and internal auditing processes.
